Wild Atlantic Way
Crystal waters, mountainous islands, Blue Flag beaches, and protected parkland decorated by mellow blanket bogs, bubbling streams, and rivers where salmon and sea trout flourish.
In County Mayo, the southern and western reaches of the Wild Atlantic Way come together to form The Bay Coast on your Wild Atlantic Way journey. You will find a land of vivid wild beauty, capped by Mweelrea - its highest peak - in the south, and hemmed to the north and west by the roaring Atlantic.
Mayo is home to the Great Western Greenway, Ireland’s longest off-road walking and cycling trail, its largest offshore island (Achill) and incredible sights like the sacred mountain of Croagh Patrick and irresistibly island-freckled Clew Bay with the Victorian Causeway at Mulranny.
